Greetings from Chalakudiriver Protection Forum. The Athirappilly struggle is taking a new turn. Evenafter the public had totally rejected the project in the June 15th Public hearing, the KSEB has managed tomanipulate the panel report of the Public hearing, on the basis of which they are on the verge of getting clearance again for the project. The fresh round of intensive and continuous struggle has become necessary. The formation of Athirappilly Aikya Dardhya Samithi(Athirappilly Solidarity Forum)is shceduled for 5th December 2006, 2PM at Chavara cultural center near South Railway station Ernakulam. On 6th December at 5PM a meeting on the issue is organised at Pressclub Hall Thiruvananthapuram. Your help and involvement is of atmost important in deciding the fate of the river and the people.
