--- Begin Message ---Dear All, Greetings from UP Election Watch. This is to inform you about the happenings at our end, Varanasi Election Watch work is in full swing. We have been receiving call continuously from our partners and associates spread across 62 constituencies going to the polls in the first phase. The most common complaint is about the lack of positive response from DMs .We have faxed copies of election commission orders and Part of Supreme Court Judgment to all the District Magistrates for their information and reference. There has also been positive from CEOs office where Mr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Assistance CEO, spoke to District Magistrates of Mahoba , Jaulan and Hamir pur .We have received calls from these DMs offices confirming the above and with there willingness to provide affidavits at the earliest. While Contacting the CEC and CEO did not result in any good, we tried another way to pressurize the DMs. We sent a mail to the secretary and Director Public Information of UP, Shri Nitin R. Gokaran giving details about UP Election watch ,Supreme Court judgment and CEC orders, requesting him to disseminate it among the all Government employees through his good offices.He has confirmed now that this has been done and all the DMs have been informed. This is the major step in sensitizing the bureaucracy about peoples right to make an informed choices.
