Fake encounter: CID officer removed NDTV Correspondent Monday, April 30, 2007 (Ahmedabad) Politics, it seems, has entered the high profile Gujarat fake encounter case involving three IPS officers.
The CID officer, DIG Rajnish Rai, who was responsible for the arrests of the three IPS officers in the case, has been removed from the investigations. Gujarat's DGP P C Pandey, in a letter to CID's Additional DGP O P Mathur, has mentioned that the Investigating Officer J B Paderia will not report to DIG Rai anymore. According to the letter, Paderia will now directly report to Additional DGP Mathur. It was Rajnish Rai who in the court had said that more people could be arrested in connection with the fake encounters. *More revelations* Meanwhile, more shocking revelations have emerged. According to agency reports, the CID has recovered a Toyota Qualis and a Crane, possibly used in the murders of Kauser Bi, Sohrabuddin and Tulsi Ram. It is believed that the Qualis was used to transport the three Sohrabuddin, Kauser and Tulsi Ram Prajapati from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad. Sources have also informed that Kauser Bi was shifted from Disha farm in the outskirts of Gandhinagar to Aham Bangalow where she may have been killed.
