I sent a reply to this on 6th, but didnt come through. I am posting it below
again

"Don't read this, please avoid doing this...
This story I heard some 6 years back, in the beginning of the HIV pandemic
and the following panic. Similar stories I heard in upper caste Hindu neighbor
hoods about 'terrorist' Muslims who carry bombs in their jeans pocket. And
these mails and stories don't just come out of ignorance. (Being ignorant is
also a crime at times) This comes from the fear and hatred of the main stream
society, towards difference. Hindus fear that Muslims will overtake their
power. The upper castes spread rumors of SC ST reservation, the nadans can't
stand the struggles of adivasis because they feel threatened. The ideal is
'healthy', hetero sexual','male', 'upper caste', 'Hindu', but sorry I don't fit
in to that ideal. The super man is dead and buried but some how we mallus still
celebrate playing with the ashes (Chitha bhasmam). Please don't be party to
these hate mails. And do you all feel that this is garbage to dumb all the
dirt? We should use but please don't misuse. "

After reading the other responses I feel, that people are taking it so cool.
Why are we so numb? This is not just a 'fake' mail, it is also spreading
misinformation about HIV. It adds to the social stigma, which positive people
are facing already. Whenever the comments/jokes/fake mails are about others, it
is read for normal, for granted.
  Bye

FROM Arvind Khamitkar , I.A.S, Director of Medical
& Research Div,

Dear Friends,

A few weeks ago, in a movie theatre, a person felt
something poking
from her seat.
Whe n she got up to see what it was, she found a
needle sticking out of
the seat with a
note attached saying "You have just been infected by
HIV". The Disease
Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar
events in many other cities
recently. All tested needles were HI V Positive.

The Center also reports that needles have been found
in cash
dispensers at public banking
machines. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when
faced with
this kind of situation. All public chairs/seats
should be inspected with
vigilance and caution before use. A careful visual

inspection should be
enough. In addition, they ask that each of you pass
this message along to
all members of your family and your friends of the
potential danger.

Recently, one doctor has narrated a somewhat similar
instance that
hppened to one of his patients at the Priya Cinema
in Delhi . A young
girl, engaged
and about to be married in a couple of months, was
pricked while the movie
was going on. The tag with the needle had the
message "Welcome to the
World of HIV family". Though the doctors told her
family that it takes about 6
months before the virus grows strong enough to start
damaging the system
and a healthy victim could survive about 5-6 years,
the girl died in 4
months, perhaps more because of the "Shock thought".
We all have to be
careful at public places, rest God help! Just think
about saving a life by
forwarding this message. Please, take a few seconds
of your time to pass
along.

With Regards, Arvind Khamitkar ,
I.A.S, Director of Medical & Research Div, Chennai.

Rather than forwarding irrelevant mails, kindly pass
this to every one.
Probably ur mail can help some save his/her life

sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and let ppl wonder if you are a
fool rather than to open it and clear all their doubts.
