Hi,

Mayavathi released 400 prisoners using federal right of state government.
Achuthanandan's progressive Kerala government is yet to release 56 prisoners

who were recommended by Jail Advisory board.

Yesterday, about 100 people participated in "Haritha Rali' in trivandrum and
demanded
prisoners' rights. This is in continuation with two year long agitation by
Anti Death Penalty Committee which succeeded in releasing three prisoners
including 80 years old Annamma .
Two prisoners in Trissur recently went on indefenite fast and got assurance
from
Kodiyeri that he will take action as soon as possible.

Mayavathi never feared media . She made their predictions wrong.
Achuthanandan
would never have been even a candidate without the mercy of media.
Even though they might be interested in releasing eligible prisoners,
they would never take a bold step unless media demands it.

Karnataka, Tamilnad and Punjab exerciosed their federal right in favour of
prisoners.

'Secular', "Progressive' intellectuals and CPIM sympathisers here still
believe
that Temple , not Jail need reforms on a war footing. Thanthris in
Guruvayoor are not as ' barbarian' as thses self congratulating
Manthris .

Secularism here begs a thourough rethinking
