New Delhi: The Mumbai police on Wednesday recovered four crude bombs
from outside the Andheri station just when the city was gearing up to
welcome Team India's return from South Africa.

A tight security blanket had been thrown in all across Mumbai and
other cities of the state as crowds thronged almost every corner of
Mumbai greet the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team, which won the
inaugural Twenty20 World Championship at the New Wanderers in
Johannesburg on Monday defeating Pakistan by five runs.

The bomb scare comes at a time when lakhs had lined up the streets in
pouring rain on Wednesday to welcome Team India and catch a glimpse of
their heroes.

A felicitation ceremony had been organised by the Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI) for the Men in Blue at the Wankhede Stadium,
which was jam-packed with lakhs of fans.

Apart from security for the players, who went on a open-top bus from
the airport to Wankhede Stadium, the city police had made elaborate
arrangements to ensure that the Ganesh immersion passed off
peacefully.

The traffic police have already given details of diversions and
closure of routes during the period.

On July 11, 2006 at least 174 people were killed and thousands injured
when a series if bombs ripped across local trains.
