Deepak,
If it were not *threads*, then what is the purpose of having a
*research and collaboration agreement* in the first place ?

Independence and self-reliance - which are crucial to public research
research programmes - come only after rejecting all forms of
dependency. Academics is no exception to this - in fact it should have
been the first place to prove with public alternatives.

Submission of academic interests before corporates signals a slow
death of serious academic research interest, at best, they only serve
to fulfill paper-publishing-gimmicks requirements of staff there to
justify their public positions. A missing strategic vision is
glaringly visible.
