Strong language is a good usage. But when one look critically at Patam, we will also see hate speech. One can make comments on the double standards of KSSP, as a movement which claims a lot in India and abroad. Crime, Fire etc also use hate speech against individuals and communities. This is mostly done by Paparazi or what is called as yellow journalism. But malayalis, because of MN Vijayan's early literary contributions, and left background cannot position Patam as another Yellow magazine. Yellow journalism is defined by wikipedia as "Yellow journalism is a pejorative reference to journalism that features scandal-mongering, sensationalism, jingoism or other unethical or unprofessional practices by news media organizations or journalists. It has been loosely defined as "not quite libel". Also one should look at the way, Patam treated homosexuality. If people to claim that this is creative journalism, I call it fascism. Hitler was using pink triangles to mark homosexuals, along with Jews, Gypsies and other deviants. Today jews and gypsies are not considered abnormal. But people like MN Vijayan may say the same. KSSP is an organisation, which should be criticised, but not branded. Thomas Isac or any other person needs to be criticised for their policies, but how do you come to conclusions and use terms like 'spy'. 'Akam' 'Puram' is the whole logic. Whatever MN Vijayan or Sudheesh is not is 'puram', and western. Homosexuality is such a crime, because probably they have not enjoyed it. But for many others that is not the case. Sex work! Fine, nobody was forcing them to do it, but let others decide for themselves. The inside outside is also similarly used by Right wing. Many times I feel that I can't actually see the difference between both protectionist vangaurds. Critical journalism is one which could create spaces for marginalised voices. But Patam was silencing them, and making statement that 'this is not allowed here' . And when that voices make noise, new Patams (learnings) will come out of that. In memory of MN Vijayan's work on 'Mampazham' (I used to enjoy that) and respects Ahmed rafeek --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Green Youth Movement" group.
