Lenin Raghuvanshi 6/6/2008 4:19:48 PM(IST) Somaru Mushar, son of late Gokul Mushar is resident of village Ayer block Harahua in Varanasi district. Somaru is 60 year old. Earlier Somaru make plate from leaf to manage the need of his family. Somaru find difficulty in plucking leaf from tree as owner of the tree denied for doing so. From last 15 years Somaru start begging as finds difficulty in managing the need of the family. Somaru did not beg for entire year. He usually begs for two and half month in a year and remaining time he makes plate from leaf. Somaru''s wife Dhaneshara Devi is helping hand to her husband from in making plate to begging. Somaru beg food grain from the devotee who bath in Kumbh festival for one month in Allahabad. In Haridwar Somaru gets money instead of food grain. In one month he begs nearly 2,500 to 3,000. On other day he begs on the bank of the ghat. Somaru Mushars has four children. Total eleven people are living in Somaru family his elder girl Mrs. Phula Devi wife of Pappu she often lives in Ayer village and work in a brick kiln factory. Another daughter of Somaru Mrs. Nagina Devi often lives at her parent house. Ramjeet separately live from his father Somaru and 18 year old Jitendra lives with him. Somaru has two hut in which entire family member are living. Somaru has Below Poverty Line (BPL) card and he also get possession of two biswa housing land from village Sabha. Total 50 families of Mushars are living in Ayer village and approximately 50 children are marginalized from education. PPC centre is managed with the assistance of Ms. Parul Sharma of Sweden to include Mushars children with the main stream of the education. Helma Ritcher of Indo-German Society, Remschied, Germany through Inwent gave economical support for the educational center of children and community centre. Sir Dorabji Tata Trust supported Pre-Primary Center. Somaru and his nephew Sajjan Mushars donate 1 biswa land for building this centre. Center was constructed and now which is used for the community meeting and children's education. One day before to the Burning of Holika, Somaru Mushars and his wife were sleeping on the foot path near Entrance Street for Viswanath Temple in Varanasi. Next morning again he start begging for his livelihood. Somaru donate 1 biswa land for the community centre in Ayer village Varanasi. He donates this land when he did not have any option for his livelihood due to slavery of caste system.
