text book controvery is gaining momentum and the communal forces had even come up with rejecting the committee, the government had instituted for reviewing the comments.
here, in fact the issue at stake is not religion or faith, but the communal forces agenda of holding to their fast eroding grip of their management schools and the ensuing power-money politics behind their hold of such private and communal institutions. they are no longer in a position to defend their institutions, both in the public and among their communities itself, due to the higher fees structure and its anti-human, anti-social image created in the public sphere. So they have to fight it out and for that, these text books became a mask at the right time. and the most unfortunate thing about the issue is that, many of our men of literature and culture are keeping a criminal silence in the issue and in blogosphere, writers who had so far stood for secularism, democracy and cultural pluralism have come up against the leftist forces and lined up with these fundamentalist forces. what i mean to say is that the contention that this should be treated a threat for the minority (atheists)is somewhat wrong, as this obscene text book controvery, is a threat for the whole progressive, leftist, secularist and democratic forces in the state. comradely rajeeve chelanat On 27 Jun, 08:57, "C.K.
