Hi, ATTAKKALARI, Bangalore, India’s leading Movement Arts Centre, with which I had bee associated since 1996, is offering an opportunity for the young dancers interested in exploring a future in dance. A free workshop, followed by an audition for dancers from all streams of dance including the classical, free-style and cinematic dance, will be conducted on Sunday, 6th of July, 2008, at Ernakulam. The venue will be at the Chavara Cultural Centre, Monastery Road, near South Railway Station and the time, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ATTAKKALARI is the only organisation of its kind in India, which had been working consistently and methodically for the cause of developing a new, contemporary idiom of dance and movement arts, as well as for furthering inter-disciplinary performance work. Dancers from all the abovementioned streams, who have passed +2, are eligible to appear for the audition. Those who are selected will be trained in many styles of dance with an international faculty and put through ATTAKKALARI’s Diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media.
