Friends, I have never felt like applying membership in FEC. Simply because I can't see any difference between mainstream Malayalam media and it from the limited "forwards" from it. The only difference was that the aggressive rightist mentality of some ( MGRadhakrishnan for instance) are exposed and unveiled.
If somebody is ready to engage , however crtical and harsh that be, evrybody feel energised. ( Neelan's post today is one example). I simply don't understand the frustration and threatened feeling of thses scribes. None of us are going to comptete with them in mainstream journals . These gatekeepers feel helpless before the articulations of the return of the 'repressed". They want us to be passive 'readers' .The last thing they could recognise is that readers could 'write'!! Let us remind them that it is a contingent phenomena that some people are writing in mainstream. there is nothing inevitable about it. If the priorities are reset in this forum as per the political uprisings in civil society, it only tell you journalists that you people are continuously erasing and making invisible a roaring Kerala. True, you have nothing to learn from here. Just go back to your closed / safe havens. I strongly protest Anivar's unwanted act of adding such unwilling people in GreenYouth.
