One hopes that at this critical hour of imminent crackdown on the
peaceful agitation and its supporters, the conspicous silence/
indifference of the entire samskarika/rashtreeya Keralam over
Chengara land struggle may immediately take a dramatic turn.

Let the focus be at least temporarily shifted from Deshabhimani or
even from
the CPM, for that matter..Let's try shifting the focus to the near -
criminal insensitivity to the entire State-
Police-Media nexus that supports perpetuating gross injustices on
weaker sections and populist anti-women, anti-queer, anti-
minority,anti-poor and anti-dalit biases.

I mean here, attempting something really positive, which may envisage
renewed efforts to involve those
of the more prominent of the cultural leaders so far uninvolved, to
convince the Govt of the urgent need for another round of talks,a
round of real dialogue with the protesters, and above all, to avoid
violent State action at any cost.

In the above context, perhaps we should be able to take to confidence
all those seem to be comparatively less consequential/powerful in the
LDF. Even the saner elements from the opposition UDF should be pressed
to intervene to avoid the conflict at Chengara.
Thanking,
