*New Delhi:* A video shot in February showing Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, prime
accused in Malegaon blasts, with MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and
BJP President Rajnath Singh is the most damning controversy that could have
hit the BJP.

The video, which was shot at a condolence meet of a BJP MLA from MP this
year, has become cannon fodder for the Congress to target the BJP of
promoting Hindu terror.

"The only thing we know about her is that she was with the ABVP till 1996,"
BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi clarified.

But Congress MP Rashid Alvi said, "It shows that the BJP is a communal
party."

In fact there are indications that there could be more trouble for the BJP.
The Sadhvi's interrogation has led to the arrest of another suspect – Sameer
Kulkarni from Bhopal.

The Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad also raided a house in Jabalpur which the
Sadhavi used to visit regularly.

However, in some relief for the Sangh Parivar, the MP police is in no mood
to let the Sadhavi's arrest tar the image of the saffron combine.

MP DGP Santosh Raut said, "These events have nothing to do with RSS."

But the lady who is leading the agitation against the saffron party is a
former BJP leader herself – Uma Bharti, who won a landslide victory for the
BJP last time around.

Now struggling to make a mark for herself, she is accusing her former party
of not being sympathetic to the cause of its own workers.

"The party which claims to fight for Hindutva wants to wash its hands off
the episode. Shows who they really are," Uma Bharti said.

For Shivraj Singh Chauhan the weeks in the run-up to the polls are literally
going to be a trial by fire.

*More arrests*

Reports indicate Shashikala Shasri, a former President of Durga Vahini, a
Sangh Parivar outfit was arrested on Sunday. She was picked up from Indore.

Sources said that she was close to another suspect Sameer Kulkari who was
arrested from Bhopal.

Both have been brought to Kala Chowky station in Mumbai for questioning.

In fact, key suspect Sadhvi Pragya's interrogation reportedly led to the
arrest of Sameer Kulkarni who has close ties with the Sanatan Sanstha in
Chinchwad near Pune.
