Hi, There is a better way to eliminate caste. Caste arises from financial & social backwardness. Encourage those who belongs to underdeveloped categories in various domains of society like education,business etc.. So after 150-200 years they will become equivalent in power to other castes. Then nobody will see any value in caste. The time spent on marriage related activities could be more productively used in other areas said above. Conduct surveys on the current status of underdeveloped categories. Do discussions on solutions. Implement it.
Do you beleive that S/C's in kerala are below in living standards to gothras in Africa ? Proper surveys are yet to be done. This is a humble suggestion.
