Bollywood has-been, Simi Garewal, who also follows keenly the plight
of the Indian Muslims (particularly the ones in slums) in her spare
time has, over time, become quite an authority on the issue and was
invited by none other than Ms Barkha Dutt to the NDTV 'show' for her
hysterically deep insights.

Nov 30:

"Go to the Four Seasons and look down from the top floor at the slums
around you. Do you know what flags you will see? Not the Congress',
not the BJP's, not the Shiv Sena's. Pakistan! Pakistani flags fly
high! ..."

Dec 2:

"I was wrong on that count and I apologise for that. In the slums near
the Race Course in Mahalaxmi in central Mumbai which I was talking
about, they sport Islamist flags; and you know it closely resembles
the Pakistani flag."

Well she was made to say sorry. But isn't she just a symptom? Isn't it
true that a 'good' Muslim is not supposed even to smile the day
Pakistan wins a cricket match? Isn't it true that many among us have
to look twice at the kid on the street wearing dirty white clothes and
a skull cap, with an old cricket ball in hand, just to make sure that
it isn't a grenade that he's holding...?
