I have been reading the stories in Manorama on harrasment of academics at CU. From my personal experience as a student at the campus, there are genuine reasons to believe the story.
It is not only academics, students who form alternative politcal alliances outside SFI are also harrassed by the academics. During my time, only some dept. had internal evaluation. But the internal evaluation became such a lowly thing bcoz of this misuse of academics for internal assasination. Both Congress teachers's union and CPM association teacher's are responsible for this. (Manoj Kumar may be able to add a few points on this) The employess asso. and some CPM academics are ruling the campus, intervening in everything. Since EA is great fund raiser for the party, they settle all discords immediately. In manorama story, there are references to a CPM uty teacher. That simple reference made me blv this story. Don't you know this is the campus notorious for rights violations- PE Usha's struggle was against this establishment.
