*Lucknow: *Breaking News! The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, swept the UP Vidhan Parishad polls, as it won 31 out of the 33 seats where results were declared on Wednesday. The Samajwadi Party and the Congress managed to win just one seat each, while the BJP failed to open its account. The Samajwadi Party was the biggest loser, as it held 22 seats in the 2003 elections. The BJP had won six seats in 2003. In the 100-member Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Parishad, the BSP now has a clear majority with 54 members. The Samajwadi Party lost even in its stronghold, including Etawah, Etah, Mainpuri and Firozabad. The party won only the Pratapgarh seat. Results for Meerut, Bulandshahr and Aligarh will be declared on Thursday. In the 2003 polls, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) had won these seats. The Congress managed to win the Rae Bareli seat. -- -- Ranjit--
