Hi,

Quote
India's foreign secretary, acting out of self-interest, focused on the
energy security. But he didn't have the courage to show his moral concern
(if not outrage) against the cruel sanctions.

The point here is that the Indian Foreign Secy. is hardly bothered about
"morality" or ethics.
She (not "he") is only concerned about projecting her "national interest"
Hence, no way, she is going to *rebuke* Obama for imposing "cruel sanctions"
on Iran nor she is expected to give vent to any *outrage* over the rank
cruelness of the Iranian regime. That'd be too "undiplomatic".

What is of significance is that while India (almost) meekly followed the US
line on Iran till the Indo-US nuclear deal process was on; once it is
through, it has started making (nearly) brave noises.
All in "national interest", not based on any ethics or morality.
