They might turn back to the words with which biologist Rachel Carson ended the introductory “Fable for Tomorrow” in her 1962 warning Silent Spring: “No witchcraft, no enemy action had silenced the rebirth of new life in this stricken world. The people had done it themselves...” -- You cannot build anything on the foundations of caste. You cannot build up a nation, you cannot build up a morality.
