NC leaders felt that the Maoist proposal is not a solid paper to make consensus among the three major political parties - NC, CPN-ML and UCPN. The CWC meeting agreed that Maoists failed to clarify the number of combatants and the PLA integration modality in their proposal. NC also expressed its deep concern on making the consensus paper public without consulting other political parties. "We reached a conclusion that both, government formation and PLA integration, should be taken together," NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, emerging out of meeting, said. He also accused UCPN (M) of neglecting sentiments of past pacts by presenting such a consensus proposal. Today's NC meeting also decided to "not at all" go for extension of tenure of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN). The party's acting president, Sushil Koirala, had on Saturday accused the UNMIN of 'siding' the Maoists on a number of occasions. Following pressure from other parties, the UCPN-Maoist on Saturday publicised its proposal. According to NC vice president Gopal Man Shreshta, the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting constituted a seven-member committee to sketch out the party’s stance on the Maoist proposal on peace, constitution and formation of a national consensus government. NC vice president and Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel, general secretary Bimalendra Nidhi, and central members Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, Dr. Minendra Rijal, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Mahesh Acharya and Chiranjivi Kumar Wagle are members of the committee. The meeting held at the party central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur this afternoon has asked the committee to present its draft in the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday. -- Peace Is Doable -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Green Youth Movement" group.
