It is Sohrabuddin's brother who asked for CBI inquiry and the Supreme Court
of India has ordered it having been dissatisfied with the investigations by
the state even though the state acknowledged the crime and filed charge
sheets against a number of top ranking police officers while refusing to
touch their political boss(es).

In neighbouring Maharashtra a number of police officers are being
incarcerated on the charges of fake encounters. No one has pointed finger at
the political functionaries.
