A gathering of about 500 activists involved in people's movements and search for alternatives to the prevalent development paradigm will be held from *5 th October to 9th October 2011* at*Salsabeel Green School in Kiraloor* near Thrissur. There will be talks and debates in the fields of energy, agriculture, habitat etc, interactive sessions and sharing among activists of experiences of their campaigns as well as progress in implementing alternatives. The highlight of this event will be a *Gandhi Katha* presented by *Sri. Narayan Desai* (the only person living who was closely associated with Gandhi, Vinoba and Jayaprakash Narayan) for three hours everyday. There will be sessions for talks and discussions on the themes of Hind Swaraj, Economy of Permanence, Energy, Food Security, Education, Health and Gender Justice. The sessions on these seven themes will be held in parallel on the forenoons of the 6th, 7th and 8th of October. However, the speakers of the day will be available on a common platform for interactive sessions each afternoon. Besides, there will be ample time for informal discussions. The renowned Buddhist Monk and Scholar* Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche* (Prime Minster, Tibetan Govt. in exile) will be with us.
