As the country burns in conflicts among communities, we see with
increasing dismay the physical, mental and emotional toll on people in
Assam, Ranchi, Mumbai, Pune, Mysore, Bangalore and more. The Pirate
Party India wishes to share a few thoughts out of concern.

The Moment of Choice

This moment - a snapshot. We've been here before.

Today, for whatever reasons, we are in an adrenaline fueled state of
hyper-awareness of differences - our alertness narrows our vision,
focuses our awareness and brings it down to a very primitive level of
survival, but there is more. We can see it again. We have been angry,
scared, shared, protected. Always we have looked back at angry choices
with regret. We stand at the crossroads again. Knowing we are writing
history with our choices, making them at the speed of thought in this
new age.

A line from Spider Man movie comes to mind "choices are what makes us
what we are, and we can always make the right choice".

We appreciate this diversity. It is enriching, nourishing, life
affirming and we hope that enough of us have that quiet anchoring in
our shared roots, that we all walk forward into a future we want. We
have hurt and been hurt and we need to heal, to care.

The word India like the word humanity stands for a collective, of
people from diverse spaces and times.

Long live the idea of India. Jai Bharat.

You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your
rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as
they follow the rules: laws and constitution.
