Hyderabad: The apprehensions of possible revival of terror witch hunt in
Hyderabad after the twin blasts on February 21 have come true. East zone
task force team under the garb of special investigation team has started
detaining and calling for questioning Muslim youths at their stations in
the name of blast investigation.

At least five persons have been detained or questioned so far by the police.

On February 23 Arshed Khan, a Mecca Masjid blast conspiracy case acquittal
was called in Malakpet police station and questioned for three hours.
Another youth Abdul Kareem was called and questioned in the same manner.

Abdul Raheem, another terror acquittal was called by police yesterday, when
he refused to oblige to the police order he was today detained by the
police.

Another youth Mohammed Azmath, MIM activist from Malakpet constituency, is
also being detained along with another youth Mohammed Rayees, who is also a
terror acquittal.

Dr. Ibrahim Ali Junaid complained that task force police Sub-Inspector
Madhusudhan Reddy is continuously calling him and asking him to meet police
under Chandrayangutta flyover, near his house at Hafiz Baba nagar. Dr.
Junaid refused police calls, and asked police to question him in proper
legal manner by providing prior notice for interrogation.

All the above youths, were awarded compensation and ‘good character’
certificate by the government as an act of repentance for implicating them
in false cases in connection with Mecca Masjid blast case and other such
cases.

Dr. Ibrahim Ali Junaid describes this police behavior as unnecessary mental
torture.
