"Everybody knows that the election process was free and transparent and was conducted as per the rules and regulations. The reports of national and international observer groups too say that the elections were free and fair," said Chief Election Commissioner Nil Kantha Uprety during the press meet. "I am confident that all sides will respect the mandate expressed by the citizens," Uprety said. The CA elections have strengthened the foundations of democratic system in Nepal, Uprety said, adding that the election will help shorten the political transition period.
