We are happy to inform you that Manisha Sethi will be in Bangalore on December 14, 2013. In the context of growing communalism and fascist agendas which imprison many innocent people in jails with the help of various draconian laws like UAPA, Sedition Law, AFSPA, etc, some of us have felt the need to use the occassion organize a public meeting on this issue. Manisha Sethi is an assistant professor at the Centre for Comparitive Religions and Civilisations in Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi., She is responsible for a number of research papers on the areas of communalism, gender, issues related to innocent prisoners and the growing challenges to South Asian Culture in general. Manisha is also an activist with Jamia Teachers’ Solidarity Asssociation, which has been campaigning against communal witch hunts hand for due process of law in terror cases. JTSA is a non funded, civil rights group of university teachers formed in the aftermath of the Batla House `encounter’ in 2008. JTSA conducts fact findings, campaigns and legal aid.
