AAP shifts focus to Narendra Modi, to level allegations of corruption
against him
By ET Bureau | 11 Feb, 2014, 04.28AM IST

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is expected
to hold a press meet on Tuesday morning to level allegations of corruption
against BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi and his alleged links with a
couple of corporate houses. A senior AAP leader told ET that the
revelations will be of the scale of a 'political earthquake'.

The Delhi government officials, ET spoke to, while confirming that the CM
will make big revelations on Tuesday, did not mention the topic of the
press conference. They indicated that it could even lead to the fall of the
fledgling AAP government.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav began tweeting at 9.45 pm on Modi,
BJP's political funding and certain industrial houses. The series of tweets
termed, "WillNaMoAnswer" are questions on Modi's alleged links, starting
off with Adani "Q1: What is the exact relationship between Modi and Adani
group? How has Adani become super rich in just 10 years?"

The second question is on gas pricing involving the RIL: "Why are the BJP
and Modi silent on gas pricing scam by Congress? Why does the media not ask
them questions about it?" The third question is on Modi's funding: "Where
does money for NaMo campaign come from? Shouldn't the BJP be
transparent...?"

The fourth was on Gujarat's economic indicators: "What is the record of
Modi govt on farmers' suicide, infant mortality, quality of schooling? A
model for the country?" The fifth one was ..

The fifth one was related to 'criminalisation' of politics: "Why does
Babulal Bokharia continue in Modi's cabinet despite being convicted? Can we
trust NaMo to end criminalisation?"

*Cong may let Jan Lokpal*

NEW DELHI: The Congress-led UPA may allow Kejriwal to live up to his
promise of introducing in the assembly the state Lokayukta bill, popularly
known as the Jan Lokpal bill, but only because it believes that the
President is bound to reject the draft legislation. In its present form,
the bill is in conflict with the central Lokpal law that was notified by
the President on Jan 1 and at least four of its provisions clash with other
laws or the Constitution, a senior law ministry official said. "The Jan
Lokpal Bill has usurped the right of phone interception and the right to
dismiss central officials which is under the Centre's purview. Also, the
Jan Lokpal Bill cannot apply to Delhi Police and DDA officials... Without
these corrections, the the bill will never find the approval of the
President," said the official.
