The Election Commission is an independent and strong body that protects the interests of voters in India. As I know, the Model Code of Conduct is a procedure which ensures that the political party in power does not take undue advantage of its position The current government has gone ahead with the GM field trials at a time when the elections are so close. The government is also in a hurry to finalise the agreement for Kudankulam nuclear reactor units 3 & 4 in Tamil Nadu. The rush for approvals also raise questions about who benefits from it? No political party should be allowed to make such key decisions before elections. Please help ensure that no party misuses its position of power. Thank you!
