[Islam itself was born just around 1,400 years ago.
One only wonders what used to happen prior to that?
And, if the (imagined) "Creator" is creating every human being as a
Muslim then why he is not bothering to keep them that way?
And, why humans have been by and large kept unaware of their "root"?]

Mumbai: Strongly supporting the statement made by Asaduddin Owaisi,
the spokesperson of the All India Muslim Perosnal Law Board (AIMPLB)
and Muslim clerics Tuesday said what the Hyderabad MP and the All
India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president has said is
correct, and true to Islamic principles.

At the same time, they also slammed the Muslim politicians for
speaking on the issue without proper knowledge.

"Whatever has Asaduddin Owaisi said is totally correct and there is no
wrong in what he has said. This is the true interpretation of a Sahih
Hadees (Authentic saying of Prophet Mohammad - peace be upon him)",
Abdur Raheem Qureshi, spokesperson of the All India Muslim Personal
Law Board (AIMPLB) said while talking to ummid.com on phone.

A controversy erupted in India after Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen
(MIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that Islam is the 'real home' of all
religions in the world and hence the real 'home coming' will be when
people of other religions embrace it.

He also slammed the Muslim politicians who he said are talking on the
issue without knowledge.

"The Muslim politicians should acquire knowledge before talking on any
issue. What Owaisi has said is based on the Islamic principles", he
added.

Mehmood Daryabad, General Secretary of the All India Ulema Council,
Mumbai, too supported Owaisi's statement but said religion and
politics should not be mixed up.

"Going by the teachings of Islam, whatever Owaisi has said is totally
correct", he said.

He however declined to comment on the Muslim politicians who
criticized Owaisi for his reported statement.

Dr. Ahmed Nadvi, who teaches in an Islamic seminary, also supported
Owaisi's move but said there is no compulsion in Islam.

"There is no dispute on what Owaisi has said. However, it should be
noted that Islam does not support forced conversion. There is no
compulsion in Islam when it comes to the choice of one's religion", he
said.

While addressing a public meeting Saturday, Owaisi said that every
child is born as a Muslim but his parents convert him to other
religions. "The real home coming will be when people of other
religions embrace Islam," he said.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Majeed Memon and Janata Dal
(United) leader Ali Anwer had criticised Owaisi outrightly rejecting
as untrue what he had said in his statement.

Owaisi's statement follows the interview of the son of a 'Revert
Muslim' published by ummid.com on December 30, 2014.

In the interview, Abdullah, a graduate from a Madrasa whose father
reverted to Islam a decade ago, quoting from the verses of the Holy
Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), says,
"Every human being is born a Muslim. It is his or her parents who then
make them Jews, Christians or Hindus. So, if such people are embracing
Islam and becoming Muslims, it means they are returning back to their
root."

Abdullah also invited the RSS, VHP and other Hindutva leaders to read Quran.

"Islam, Quran and the Prophet (peace be upon him) are not for Muslims
alone. They are for every human being whether they are Hindus, Jews,
Christians or followers of any other religion. RSS and VHP leaders
should also study and understand the Quran. It is a book of guidance
and there is every chance that they, like billions others, will get
benefited", he said.

A nationwide controversy erupted in India recently after a few Hindu
organisations, some of whom owe allegiance to the RSS, organised
conversion programmes in some north Indian states to convert
non-Hindus to Hinduism.

They claim that all Indians are Hindus, and the ancestors of the
Indian Muslims and Christians were either lured or were forced to
convert their religion, and hence there is a need of their 'home
coming.'
