If Che Guevara is invited to inaugurate a state conference of DYFI in Kerala, will he inaugurate it by lighting a traditional lamp symbolised for a majoritarian culture? Believe me, as an atheist, I have no problem of lighting a traditional lamp, in the absence of other political and alternative rituals or symbols. But I would strongly oppose any form of forcing or imposition of such cultures on anybody who does not wish to be part of it. I would love to hear the opinions of my friends on this.
