India continues to obstruct Nepal bound freights for third consecutive day
- Post Report, Kathmandu

Sep 25, 2015- The Indian authorities on Friday continued to stop the
Nepal bound freights at major entry points to Nepal from India in the
name of tightening security measures.

Indian customs officials have been obstructing the goods carrier
vehicles, LPG bullets and oil tankers at Nepal-India border citing
security reasons in Nepal’s Tarai region and orders from above.

The movement of freight trucks has been obstructed at key entry points
in Biratnagar, Kakadbhitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj.
Sunauli border in Rupandehi has not seen any vehicular movements
except two empty freight-trucks since Friday morning.

Apparently upset over the promulgation of new constitution, Indian
side started holding up Nepal bound freights at the border since
Wednesday. The India has been expressing serious concerns over
increased violence in Tarai region and has been urging the government
to resolve the crisis through dialogue.
