`Go to Pakistan’ is a typical response of the Sanghis when they fail miserably in a debate on the face-book. I do not know what the Sanghis understand about Pakistan. It is not relief camp for victims and survivors of communal violence unleashed by the Sanghis on the minorities in India. It is a separate country. There is no official agreement between Pakistan Government and the Government of India that all the victims and survivors of communal violence of the Sanghis, all the Muslim minorities and all the human rights activists who question the violence of the Sanghis will be given official refugee status in Pakistan. The Sanghis have used this weapon of `Go to Pakistan’ to even a reputed writer like UR Ananthamoorthy who came from Brahminical origin for his `crime of questioning’ their politics of violence and politics of hatred. Most of the critics of the Sanghi politics on the face book have faced this response. I have also faced this response. What is more important for this nation is to accept that neither the Government of India nor the State Governments have so far paid proper compensation to the victims and survivors of the communal violence in Gujarat, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhamal and many other such incidents. Those who have been responsible for the murder, loot, destruction and rapes in all these areas are not yet in jail. At the same time, many innocents have been arrested with fabricated charges. Those who are responsible for such violence are enjoying the political power even today. So, as per the priorities of the secular Indian democracy, first let those who have faced violence be properly compensated and let those who are responsible for violence be jailed. Only after providing such minimum justice in this democracy, we will be able to discuss about who should go to Pakistan. Needless to say that if we go by these minimum democratic demands, I wouldn’t be surprised if our Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself ends up in jail. K.P. Sasi
