I am certainly impressed with my friends who have been trying to push the
Indian Medical Association (IMA) and other bodies connected to disaster
management and preparedness to take up issues like disaster management more
seriously in Thiruvananthapuram. Trapped between a short distance of
Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project and Vizhinjam International Transit
Harbour, the people of southern Kerala, especially the fisher folk, MLAs,
Ministers, Chief Minister, Opposition Party leaders, their families, the
bureaucrats and staff in the Secretariat, AGs Ofiice, Press Club members
and their families will soon need some major help from organisations like
Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the disaster management authorities in
dealing with disaster preparedness. It is better that people are trained
properly from now onwards.
