Apart from the growing Islamophobia in this country after the demolition of Babari Masjid, there is also a parallel growth of Christophobia in India, often not so blatantly expressed, but yet growing as an underneath current of Indian consciousness. .A section of the secular forces and a section of progressive Muslim intelligentsia have taken note of the growing Islamophobia, while a section of both are contributing to its growth without having any deeper understanding on the changes in popular consciousness. But I am still wondering, to what extend the secular intelligentsia and the Christian intelligentsia are aware of the growth of Christophobia in India, especially after the communal genocide of Adivasi Christians and Dalit Christians in Kandhamal in 2008.
