When I made the film `Fabricated’ on the human rights violations on Abdul Nasar Maudany, a lot of Muslims told me: `God Bless You’. I told them: `He won’t, because I am an atheist.’ And now, after making the documentary film `Voices from the Ruins’ on the human rights violations of Adivasi Christians and Dalit Christians and the struggle for justice in Kandhamal, the Christians have also started telling me `God Bless You’. I repeat my answer. And the question is why is God so particular in blessing an atheist when there are millions of people praying day and night desperately to get His blessings? The answer is simple. What they mean is : `You are doing good work. But it is not my responsibility to support you. I hand over that responsibility to God’.
