Viral video of Army striking Pak bunkers predates beheadings TNN | May 9, 2017, 01.10 AM IST NEW DELHI: A video of the Indian Army using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and tank shells to destroy a couple of Pakistan army bunkers and posts across the Line of Control went viral on social media on Monday. Some TV channels erroneously concluded that it was retaliation against the beheading of two Indian soldiers in the Krishna Ghati sector on May 1. Though the video did detail action against Pakistani posts, it was shot much before the beheadings. Both defence ministry and Army sources clarified that the video was shot in another sector along the LoC much before the Pakistan army's border action team "mutilated" the bodies of Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh and BSF head constable Prem Sagar. In the video, troops are seen first firing Konkurs ATGMs and then following it up with some shells from "infantry tanks" (tanks decommissioned from the armoured corps but used by infantry for firepower in such situations) to completely destroy Pakistani bunkers. Top Comment HAHAHAHA..... How indian media make their public fool..... Chief Saab Punjab Regiment soldiers can be heard exulting, "Tank ka shell lag gaya— gira diya, sahib!" As reported by TOI last week, while the Army has stepped up its cross-border firing to impose some costs on the Pakistan army after May 1, the force will effectively retaliate against the beheadings in a wellplanned move at "a time and place of its choosing". An undated video being widely circulated on social media shows Indian Army destroying Pakistani bunkers along the Line of Control (LoC). The 1:41 minute-long video shows anti-tank guided missiles being fired from Indian posts targeting Pakistani post on the other side of the LoC. "Tank ka lag gaya, gira diya..hanji..hanji. Hit ho rha, hit ho rha...gira diya. Ye to gaya, ek bunker to gaya," a jawan is heard saying in the video as the missiles continue to hit their targets. The actual date when the video was shot is yet to be ascertained but sources said that it could be from April. In April this year, there were seven ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. The video could have been shot just a few days ahead of the beheading of two Indian jawans by Pakitani security forces. Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh of the Indian Army and constable Prem Sagar of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed and their bodies mutilated by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir earlier this month. The Army issued a statement saying that the bodies of an army soldier and a BSF head constable were mutilated but a senior army officer had confirmed to PTI that they were beheaded.
