It is high time that people in India get bothered about Adani, the
sweetheart of Narendra Modi. Australians are. Enough environmental damage
and destruction of livelihood have happened in India. The latest in the hit
list is Vizhinjam Transit harbour in Thiruvananthapuram. For this
construction, two hills from the western ghats will be unearthed and dumped
in the Arabian Sea. The livelihood of over 50,000 people will be destroyed.
One of the most precious oceanic region named in the world known as rare
wedge bank, rich in bio-diversity will be affected, destroying rare and
threatened species. Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Srilanka will be the victims.
The coast and and the houses of around 25 fishing villages will be washed
out. Kovakam beach will soon become Kovalam rocks. Adani has nothing to
lose. Because it is all tax payers' money. The project costing 7,600 crores
invested mainly by the Government is a scam as per the CAG report. The
projection is that Thiruvanthapuram will become a Dubai. That is our worry
too. Because Dubai is a desert! Fisherpeople's organisations like KSMTF,
peoples' science movements like KSSP, environmental groups, national level
networks of fisher people's organisations, green networks, women's groups
and human rights organisations ought to take up this issue more actively
than before. Time has come to say `no' to such development disasters!

The Australians are doing a better job than the activists in India. Have a
look at his film:
