[What is really interesting about this statement is that it was made by Nikki Haley, and not by Tillerson, the Secretary of State. There has been a power struggle between Haley and Tillreson for some weeks now. Trump favours Haley because, unlike Tillerson, she is a willing handmaiden for his far right xenophobic and America-centric foreign policy. On the Iran issue Tillerson, McMaster, Mattis, and Kelly, with support from the Chief of Staff, all argued strongly that Trump should recertify the Iran deal. Trump disregarded their advice. It has been suggested that Haley, with support from the extraordinarily wealthy and powerful Zionist family of Robert Mercer, bypassed the military triumvirate on the right, amongst other things by enlisting advice from John Bolton. It has even been rumoured that Bolton may have had a hand in drafting Trump's speech on the Iran deal. *Tillerson, McMaster and Mattis have been publicly humiliated. When you think about it, when did you last hear McMaster speek publicly on anything? Has he, along with so many others, fallen out of favour with his lord and master, without anybody noticing? The emergence of Haley means that US foreign policy will shift ever more sharply to the right. To use Sen. Corker's colourful expression, not merely Tillerson, but also McMaster and Mattis have all been "castrated", and Haley is having a ball, if you will forgive the pun. Backed by Mercer and possibly by Adelson as well, John Bolton, who was initially rejected when he sought the post of Secretary of State, is now a slightly sinister power behind the throne. Netanyahu has intimate ties, not just with Trump, but with all of these key players. Have Netanyahu and the mega-wealthy US Zionist lobby replaced the State Department as a key foreign policy adviser for the Trump administration? In accordance with Trump's wishes, the State Department is also being gutted and marginalised, as is Tillerson, who has willingly presided over the marginalisation of his own Department. Haley, interviewed on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” also said the reason the United States was looking closely at the Iran nuclear deal is because of escalating tensions over North Korea’s nuclear weapons development. “What we’re saying now with Iran is don’t let it become the next North Korea.” On Friday, Trump refused to formally certify that Iran was meeting the requirements of a 2015 international deal aimed at monitoring and controlling that country’s nuclear program. The U.S. Congress now has 60 days to decide whether to reimpose economic sanctions on Tehran that were lifted under the deal. In her “Meet the Press” interview, Haley said, however, “We’re not saying they’re in breach of the agreement.” Haley, also interviewed on ABC’s ”This Week,“ said of Iran: ”We have to hold them accountable. They can’t be continuing to support terrorism around the world like we are seeing they do. They can’t continue to test ballistic missiles, which will lead to a nuclear Iran.
