[What brazenness! <<(Ghulam Nabi Azad:) “Let the discussion take place today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) and extend the session by two days to pass the bills. We are ready to sit extra days. <<(Mallikarjun Kharge:) They (the BJP) have got a loud mouth… They are number one liars and are trying to hide their own mistakes. They do not want the Opposition to speak and expose their misdeeds: banking scam, Rafale deal, farmer issues and the government’s role in dilution of the SC/ST Act — because they want to concentrate on the Karnataka election. That’s why they are encouraging NDA partners to disrupt the house. First, it was their own partners TDP, YSRCP which is nearer to them, and friendly parties like AIADMK, which were disrupting. Show me anytime when our people went to the well and disrupted in the last few days… We met the Speaker several times to allow us to speak… The House is disrupted by only 15-20 people. Who is encouraging them? The government is encouraging them.>> (Ref.:< http://indianexpress.com/article/india/mallikarjun-kharge-parliament-jogjam-rajya-sabha-lok-sabha-sumitra-mahajan-congress-bjp-ananth-kumar-5125557/ >.) <<The final day of the budget session ended on Friday in with the Rajya Sabha as well as the Lok Sabha being adjourned indefinitely by the respective Speakers. Both the Houses of the Parliament saw multiple adjournments in recent days as they were adjourned for the 21st consecutive day without any business having being conducted. The Houses have rocked by protests by the Opposition and BJP on issues such as demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh, Cauvery water dispute and banking scam. While the AIADMK and the DMK have been demanding the setting up of a Cauvery water board, TDP and YSR Congress MPs have been demanding special status to Andhra Pradesh. Five MPs of YSR Congress the latter even announced that they will resign on Friday from Lok Sabha to protest the NDA government’s ‘failure’ in the matter.>> (Ref.: < http://indianexpress.com/article/india/parliament-budget-session-live-updates-rajya-sabha-lok-sabha-adjournment-naidu-tdp-ysr-andhra-pradesh-cauvery-protest-5125844/ >.) 《Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, furious at being accused by Union Minister Ananth Kumar of disrupting parliament, accused him of "lying" and said it was the government that was guilty of the logjam. "I think it's shameful that the parliamentary affairs minister can speak such lies on the floor of the house," Sonia Gandhi told NDTV after bitter sparring in the Lok Sabha, which was adjourned well before time. Ananth Kumar, the parliamentary affairs minister, had accused the opposition Congress of not allowing parliament to function and had repeatedly named Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi, the Congress president, while doing so. "Congress has always been sitting patiently and requesting a discussion. It's the government and its allies that have not been allowing parliament to function," she said to NDTV. The Budget Session of parliament was a lost cause with multiple disruptions and adjournments. The two houses didn't function properly for 23 days. Yesterday, Ananth Kumar announced that lawmakers of the BJP-led ruling coalition would not take their salaries and allowances, voluntary giving up their earnings amid a long-running debate on a "no work, no pay" rule for MPs. The move was seen as an attempt to blame the opposition for the disruptions as those parties had moved a no-confidence motion against the government. Ananth Kumar said: "Congress is not letting the house run and just into drama outside at the (Mahatma) Gandhi statue." He said the government was ready to discuss all issues but the opposition was simply not cooperating. The opposition, however, has says parties such as the AIADMK, which are known to be friendly to the ruling BJP, blocked all business in house to ensure that the no-trust motion proposed by opposition parties was not taken up. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Green Youth Movement" group.
