Breaking | Police detain 6 for allegedly putting up ISIS Flags in Nalbari

Guwahati, May 8: Following the sensational incident where a black flag
stating “join in ISIS” was found in Nalbari, the district police have
detained six people including one BJP member.

Speaking about the issue, sources stated that based on certain inputs six
people were picked up and detained by the police for questioning on the
issue. These are suspected to be involved in putting up the flags as per
some inputs but none have yet confessed or spoken anything about it.

The source added that the detained ones have been identified as former
Congress councilor and current BJP district member Tapan Barman, Mujammil
Ali, Mun Ali, Pulak Barman, Dipjyoti Thakuria and Sarujyoti Baishya.

All of these detained members are being interrogated by the Belsor Police
and a case has also been lodged but none of them have been arrested yet.

It may be mentioned that the Nalbari Police have initiated an operation to
track down all the culprits who were involved in setting up the flag of
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Currently an investigation by the police is still on.
