[Reclaiming Hinduism from the vile clutches of Hindutva?
Or an act of surrender?
Time will tell.

《After a four-day Twitter hiatus, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has begun
posting updates from his Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Gandhi, who is on a 12
to 15-day pilgrimage, tweeted photos of the Mansarovar lake today morning.
"The waters of lake Mansarovar are so gentle, tranquil and calm," Gandhi
tweeted. "They give everything and lose nothing. Anyone can drink from
them. There is no hatred here. This is why we worship these waters in
India."
The photo tweet followed a simple post in which Rahul Gandhi said that a
"man goes to Kailash when it calls him".

Gandhi's words -- about Kailash calling a person-- were a throwback to
something Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in 2014.

Campaigning in Varanasi in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Modi
had said, "Aaj yahan aane ke baad lagta hai ki mujhe yahan (Varansi) na
kissi ne bheja hai, na mein yahan ayaa hun. Mujhe toh yahan Maa Ganga ne
bulaya hai (Here in Varanasi, I feel that I haven't been sent by anybody,
nor have I come here on my own. Mother Ganga has called me here."

Rahul's tweets today came four days after he tweeted a Sanskrit shloka from
the Upanishads, along with a photo of Mount Kailash.

Gandhi left for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on August 31. The Congress
chief decided to undertake the pilgrimage after a mid-air scare in April.
Then, Gandhi was flying to Karnataka to campaign in the state's assembly
polls when his plane saw a sharp loss in altitude.

IndiaToday.in had previously reported that a probe by the aviation
regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had found that Rahul
Gandhi's plane -- a super luxury 10-seater Dassault Falcon 2000 aircraft --
was on autopilot at the time of the incident.

While cruising at its allocated altitude, the autopilot system developed a
snag, causing the aircraft to bank sharply to the left and lose altitude.
The pilots then switched to manual control and brought the plane under
control.

The Congress had cried conspiracy over the mid-air event.
