The registrar of Thiruvalluvar University in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday stated
that newly elected Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) president from
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Ankiv Baisoya, has not enrolled
in the university or any of its affiliated colleges. This means Baisoya had
submitted fake certificates in Delhi University as suggested by National
Students’ Union of India (NSUI).

The letter, written to the state’s principal secretary of education, dated
October 3, said, “Ankiv Baisoya has not enrolled either in our university
or in any of our constituent or affiliated colleges and is not our student
at all.”

In September, NSUI circulated a letter from the Thiruvalluvar University’s
exam controller, which said that Baisoya submitted fake certificates to
gain admission in a post-graduation course in Delhi University’s Buddhist
Studies department.

According to a Scroll report, the registrar of Thiruvalluvar University has
now reiterated that the exam controller’s letter was genuine and Baisoya
has submitted a fake degree. “The certificate he [Baisoya] has produced is
fake and not from our university. The controller of examination has issued
a letter stating that the certificate is not genuine after official
verification of records of the controller of examinations office,” the
registrar’s letter said.

Not treating it as a special matter, Delhi University has clubbed fake
marksheet allegations against Baisoya with 200 other such cases, reported
The Times of India.

Last month, when a reporter had asked the 23-year-old which subjects he had
studied, Baisoya gave a vague answer, “I studied subjects like English,
skill based subjects, core theory subjects and several types of subjects.”
When asked which topic or subject was his favourite, he had parroted
“skill-based subjects.”

Meanwhile, the Delhi University is still refusing to show the exam records
of students who had pursued Bachelor of Arts courses in 1978, the year in
which the varsity claims Modi had graduated.
