For the video of the press conference by Kapil Sibal, yesterday: <

<<Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre looted the
people's money by banning the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations
during demonetisation in 2016, alleged senior Congress party leader Kapil
Sibal on Tuesday.

Releasing a video here at a press conference which showed the exchange of
banned notes with the new currencies at the commission of 15 per cent to 40
per cent, Sibal said: "It is another proof of how Prime Minister Modi-led
government looted people by banning the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000
denominations during demonetisation in 2016."

Claiming that an official of India's elite intelligence agency--Research
and Analysis Wing (RAW) and that of IndusInd Bank were allegedly involved
in the exchange of banned notes, Sibal said: "The video shows the exchange
of demonetised notes with the new ones in a government godown in
Maharashtra." He said the video has been made by a journalist but refused
to give details citing security reasons.

Asking the government to investigate the matter and arrest those seen in
the video, he said: "The alacrity with which the Enforcement Directorate
(ED) searches people, it can arrest these people (featured in the video)
and tell the country what the truth is."

"Will ED, CBI, and the government arrest these people," he asked.>>

<<In one video, Rahul Ratharekar, allegedly a field assistant in the
cabinet secretariat, claims that the currency exchange was conducted at a
charge of 35 to 40 per cent by a special team led by BJP chief Amit Shah,
comprising of officials from various government departments. Currency from
various ministers and business houses were brought in planes to Hindon air
base from where it was taken to the Reserve Bank of India.
Ratharekar also claims that he has overseen transactions worth Rs 20,000
crore himself.

Ratharekar adds that three series of 1 lakh crore each, were printed in
duplicate abroad and brought to India on air force transport planes at
Hindon Air Force base.

Sibal said, “Ratharekar also explains the detailed logistics of currency
exchange controlled by BJP president Amit Shah. He explains how 26 people
have been recruited from various departments specifically to oversee and
co-ordinate with Reserve Bank of India.”

“Rahul Retharekar also explains how Reliance Jio database was misused to
show repetitive transactions in RBI. He confirms that new currency with
Urjit Patel signatures was actually printed 6 months earlier,” said Sibal.

In another set of videos that purportedly featuring an IndusInd Bank
official Sanjay Channe, Channe shows boxes full of old currency as well as
freshly printed Rs 2,000 notes, at a warehouse-like place in Mumbai, that
have allegedly arrived from Belapur in Maharashtra.

There is also a discussion about a large warehouse in Gujarat, which does
not have CCTV cameras, being used to conduct the transactions. Names of Jay
Shah (Amit Shah’s son), Nitin Patel (Gujarat Deputy CM) and National
Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Channe says that he had taken Rs 100 crore in
old notes from Jay Shah and Patel and had returned the money via RTGS.

“Demonetisation is the biggest scam in Indian history… It is sad that our
agencies will investigate the opposition, but not those in power,” Sibal
said.>>

<<A field assistant from Research & Analysis Wing, India’s external
intelligence agency, can be heard explaining a covert, currency exchange
operation involving the PMO and BJP President Amit Shah.

Releasing the sensational video clip, former Union Minister Kapil Sibal
told newsmen on Tuesday that the clips confirmed his worst suspicion that
Demonetisation was the biggest financial scam that India has seen.

In the video clip Rahul Rathanekar, with his wife by his side, is sitting
in a suite in Hotel Trident, Mumbai and explaining the operation. As much
as Rs three lakh Crore, he claims, were printed abroad in duplicate and
flown to the Indian Air Force base at Hindon on the border of Delhi, from
where the currency get transferred to the RBI.
...
He names one Nipun Sharan in the PMo as the person coordinating the
operation. Sibal mentions that in all probability it is a pseudonym since
his enquiries about a man with this name had drawn a blank.

But the field operative names Amit Shah twice in the video clip and says
that during the currency exchange, it was ensured that no intervention
would be made by any other agency including the police. A team of 26 people
had been formed to oversee this currency transaction.

“ I hope your owners allow you to air this,” Sibal taunts the newsmen. And
true enough, NDTV, which was broadcasting the press conference live, cut
off just before the start of the sting video. There was radio silence from
mainstream media till evening and even otherwise active Twitter handles of
editors and journalists did not touch the sensitive and sensational video.>
