An addition. This, in fact, is in response to someone else elsewhere. The AIMIM must not be touched even with a barge pole. That'd be suicidal.
In any case, given the obtaining realities, an all-inclusive electoral front all across the country is a pipedream. Not even desirable, in all cases. But, there must be united fights against the regime, in other spheres, including the non-party organisations. As much broad as possible. The fight on the streets would be too crucial - in the coming days. With the pandemic, hopefully, receding, even more so. The first acid test would be the launch of the NPR survey. As far as electoral fights are concerned - which are also of great salience, there has got to be state-specific alliances. A rerun of the 1977 parliamentary poll doesn't appear feasible. The Congress, which is the *only* pan-national opposition political party and, evidently, by far the most visible among them, is still in a partial snooze mode. That's utterly disturbing. The uncertainties about Rahul Gandhi taking over the reins of leadership must end forthwith. (In the midst of the Bihar poll campaign, he suddenly withdrew!) Sukla From: [email protected] Nov. 11 2020 The Role of the AIMIM in Bihar Poll This is the no. 2 in the AIMIM: <https://youtu.be/ykypjI-JSPo>. It damages the prospects of the saner alternatives, essentially, in two ways. I. It communalises (some/many) Muslims. II. It communalises (some/many) Hindus. Of course, the dead committed voters won't be impacted. But, there'd be large sections of the not-so-committed. Many of them get swayed. That's how. It aids the BJP, in the name of opposing it. [As per the EIC data, out of the total 243, the NDA has won 125 and the Mahagathvandhan: 110. BJP, up from 53 to 74. JD(U), down from 71 to 40. RJD, down from 80 to 75. Congress, down from 27 to 19. CPI(ML)-Liberation, up from 3 to 12. CPI from 0 to 2. CPI(M) from 0 to 2. However, in terms of vote share: BJP down from 24.4% to 19.5%. JD(U) down from 16.8% to 15.4%. RJD up from 18.4% to 23.1%. Congress up from 6.7% to 9.5%. CPI(ML)-Lib from 1.54% to ? CPI from 1.36% to 0.83% CPI(M) from 0.61% to 0.65% The last time, the JD(U) was a constituent of the Mahagathvandhan.
