"Press Release" of Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDAI),Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology(MEITY) dated May
27, 2022 cautions all Aadhaar embedded Indian residents to "Do not
share photocopy
of your Aadhaar with any organizations because it can be misused."
UIDAI's belated "Press Release" states "Please avoid using a public
computer at an internet cafe/kiosk to download e-Aadhaar. However if you do
so, please ensure that you delete all the downloaded copies of e-Aadhaar
permanently from that computer."
"Only those organizations that have obtained a User License from the UIDAI
can use Aadhaar for establishing the identity of a person. Unlicensed
private entities like hotels or film halls are not permitted to collect or
keep copies of Aadhaar card." #RepealAadhaarActBlackLaw
<https://twitter.com/hashtag/RepealAadhaarActBlackLaw?src=hashtag_click> After
CAG's audit of the functioning of UIDAI, it is quite clear that the
UID/Aadhaar number database scheme conceptualized by WIPRO in 2006-2007 is
a tried, tested & failed project. Had UIDAI shared all the files & details,
CAG would have recommended winding up of UIDAI.
"as per approved strategy" mentioned in the January 2009 notification,
Ministry of Home Affairs likely to take over UID/Aadhaar database because
#AadhaariIsNPR.
