*The Statement of the Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace (CNDP),
India Regarding Ukraine's Nuclear Plant*
CNDP, India, strongly endorses the call by the UN Secretary General
Antonio Guterres for the immediate establishment of a demilitarized zone
around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine. Damage to it, as a result
of the ongoing armed conflict and exchanges, would have radioactive
consequences too terrible to contemplate. Hence the necessity of securing
such a demilitarized zone around the plant.
CNDP also calls on the Indian government to publicly and promptly
endorse this call for a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear
plant.
