Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR), centralized database of UIDAI that stores Aadhaar Numbers, demographic data and biometric data and metadata is subset of Public Information Infrastructure & Innovation(PIII) which was headed by Pitroda with cabinet minister rank like Nilekani. CIDR and PIII are part of World Bank's eTransform Initiative launched in April 2010 in partnership with France, French Safran, South Korea, Microsoft, L1, Intel, Gemalto and Pfizer.
