The Solesmes font was made by Solesmes and they don't want to share it.
A priori the closest is the Garamond, although the a and the g have some
noticeable differences. The problem is that if you want a beautiful
Garamond, you'll need a non-free one, like the very famous Adobe
Garamond Pro. A lot of professionals use this font, and it is the one I
use in my scores and books; I think it's the best one, and I'm very
happy with it, but I must admit I didn't look for something else since
this font was enough for me. The thing is I can't really talk about that
on the site, since it is not free. I'm not quite sure there is a free
font with an equivalent quality, as a teacher of mine (very famous in
the TeX and fonts milieu) told me to use non-free fonts, but if you have
some ideas, I can look at them.

Non-free fonts are for now quite hard to install, but the otfinstall
script is working quite well. Sadly, with this script you have to do
some dirty modifications by hand to typeset some glyphs, like ý or æ. It
should be better with LuaTeX as it will be able to handle otf and ttf
fonts natively, but the otf handling and the LaTeX part are not stable
enough.

So, sadly, like in any other typesetting system, if someone wants high
quality typesetting, he'll have to look for a thing or two by himself...
So I don't really know how to talk about that on the site... maybe just
saying something equivalent as this mail (without naming fonts)?

Thank you for the idea!
