A tip to new users:
The PDF files produced by TeX utilities are often rather bloated. I've
noticed that I can reduce their size by converting them to Postscript
and back to PDF with these commands:
pdftops main.pdf
ps2pdf main.ps main-smaller.pdf
In one example, this procedure reduced a one-page PDF file from 729 KB
to 20 KB:
-rw-r--r-- 1 rac rac 19784 2008-11-13 17:14 Te_laudamus-main.pdf
-rw-r--r-- 1 rac rac 729457 2008-11-13 17:14 Te_laudamus-main-tmp.pdf
Please note that the utility "pdftops" is not the same as the similar
program "pdf2ps"; the latter does not have this effect.
